One of the concerns expressed by both members of the Community Council and the Community itself is that people don’t know who is on the Community Council and what we are doing. I can understand why!

Although we place a copy of the minutes in both the Community Centre and on the notice board outside the Mace in the Square, not many people will notice them, let alone read them. Until recently very few members of the public came along to the meetings.

With the publication of this new community newspaper, we hope we can change that and make it easier for folk to know what is happening in their community and just as importantly let them know what we on the Council are trying to do for the benefit of the community.

The newspaper will be available on the web site we have set up – www.strathtimes.co.uk. We will also make sure that copies of the minutes of the Community Council meetings are available there along with details of all the Community Council members, how you can contact them and details of agendas for future meetings.

We recognise that many people in the Community will not have access to the internet and we will continue to place copies of the minutes and agendas on the notice boards at the Community Centre and the Mace should you want to see them there.

The Community Council is there to coordinate and express the views of the Community it represents, and to take what action we can in the interests of the Community. We rely on you letting us know of any concerns or views you might have about issues that affect the Community.

Please don’t hesitate to let us know so that we can represent you to the best effect.
