On the night of the challenge Councillor Douglas Briggs counted a grand total of 75 musicians and singers who all came together and performed under the watchful eye of conductor Margaret Scott.

They beat Daviot’s record by a fantastic 32 and a week later Mr Clay’s McPudsey Bear challenge trophy was officially handed over to the village.

After it has been engraved it will go on display and there will also be an exhibition of some of the photographs in the Community Centre in the New Year.

We have collected more than £2000, which is a huge amount to raise in one go and totally amazed everyone. Special praise must go to our two biggest fundraisers: Margaret Macdonald (individual) and Sam &Tom Evans (family). Under the rules of the challenge £1000 will be donated to Children in Need and the rest will be divided equally between two local charities.

We know there are a lot more talented musicians and singers out there. Watch this space for your invitation to next year’s challenge!
