Recently opened in the square in the Strath, is a new cycle shop called Square Wheels, run by Steve Macdonald from Kinellan and Andy Dytch from Dingwall. The shop occupies the Tourist Information centre. As a result of a partnership with HOST, the shop will offer a retail outlet with bike repairs and hire combined with the provision of tourist information. Over the past eight weeks, both Steve and Andy have been working flat out to get the shop ready as well as set up the new business. The shop opened its doors on 30 November. "Our aim is to provide a cycling shop which will offer quality bikes, accessories and clothing combined with straightforward friendly advice. We also offer hire and repair of bikes. In the main our emphasis will be on mountain bikes but we also supply hybrids and other bikes as required." said Steve. "Personally I am very happy to set something like this up and running in the village, as I hope we can provide something which will draw and keep visitors in the area. It will also provide a service to local people". The shop offers bikes from Orange, Scott and Ridgeback which cater for all ages, experiences and budgets. For the trials rider there are bikes from Da Bomb. In addition, there is an extensive range of clothing for the biker and outdoor enthusiast alike, from Gill, Endura and Altura. For a short period only, there are also a number of rechargeable scooters for sale, which are great fun. Steve and Andy will no doubt make you very welcome. If nothing catches your eye you will at least be able to listen to some good music! The shop will be open every day up to Xmas. |
